About Innisfail Community Band

The Innisfail Community Band was established in 2008, following an inaugural meeting attended by three local residents—Darryl Anderson, Adrian Frost, and Richard Graham. Rehearsals originally took place at the Innisfail State High School campus before relocating to Good Counsel College, and the band now rehearses at the Innisfail Conservatorium.

Over the years, the band has formed a variety of ensembles depending on the instruments and players available. These have included a full concert band, jazz ensemble, marching band, small groups, and more.

To support its members, the band has successfully secured a number of grants, enabling the purchase of instruments for loan, performance equipment, and opportunities to host guest artists who help grow the skills and confidence of our musicians.

We’re a friendly and inclusive group made up of musicians of all ages and skill levels—from those just getting started to players with years of experience. If you love making music and being part of a supportive community, we’d love to have you join us.

Our Patron since 2022 is the State Member for Hill, Mr. Shane Knuth, a passionate advocate for the arts. Shane is regularly seen supporting local events, including many performances by our band.
